A flamboyant & fun collaboration saw Haas Coffee Collective come to life in this rejuvenated heritage building.
The front of this significant heritage building was thoughtfully restored in a way that remained true to its original design yet brought a modern aesthetic. We added timber doors and windows, the decorative balcony, and brick-moulded seating, while deep tones of grey were painted across the facade. Internally, we kept it very industrial with the use of extra-large steel sliding shutters, exposed brick, concrete and raw steel. Lighting and electrical was exposed and emphasised with bosal piping.
A rich palette of textures lend themselves to this creative space, expanding the experience of drinking coffee to a sensual wonderland.
Large steel sliding shutters with reeded perspex were designed to add a richness to the moody lighting & create separate sections within the coffee house.
Industrial-sized mirrors and faucets opening directly into a large concrete basin are crafted elements that add to the overall unique experience.
Wall space needed to be maximised in order to allow for the display of regularly-changing artwork from local artists. Large steel beams were left exposed across the ceiling.
Timber beams were white-washed & left exposed to add to the textured, industrial feel.
Exposed concrete floors & walls, contrasted with plush vintage furniture & artwork, sets the stage for a rich, vibrant aesthetic.
An impressive facade with deep tones of grey invites the coffee enthusiast into the moody, magical interior.
